When will they ever learn? When will we ever learn?

Just read this about Mr Hugo in the paper: "I feel obligated to push forward with this project of socialism," Chavez said in his speech, "Venezuelans, yes, 63 percent of Venezuelans voted for a shift toward socialism. And I have to make that wish true." The context of this comment is he wishes to change the constitution of Venezuela and make the President a life-long position, starting with himself (of course).

Socialism does not mean single ruler forever. Let's hope the majority of Venezuelans at least have that much education in socialism. The problem, I'd guess, with socialism is that so few people ever take the time to truly study and learn Marx & Engels. They were teaching what the US pretends to do - let each person have a vote - of course Marx & Engels extended that to mean within the workplace also. Voting is the core of true socialism - the people actually have control over their own destiny. That could never happen with a dictator.

So, let's hope that enough of the 63% of folks that voted socialist also know their roots. Too many countries have been ruined by phony disguises of socialism - often run by dictators that "know what's best" for their people. That thought in itself proves the dictator does not believe in socialism. Come on, Hugo!

Do a good job and people will vote for you again in 6 years. What the heck is your game or your fear? If it's the US you fear, then that's healthy because the US is run by maniacs, but being a dictator won't save you in that case anyway. If it's your own people you fear, then shame on you, and shame on whatever you're planning on doing that will cause your own people to distrust you.

If your idea is to save the cost of the process of running for president, there's got to be a better way around it. Got to be. I know the costs are stupid, and somehow or another has to be changed, but sheesh, becoming dictator is not the answer to that problem.

Think I talk a lot? Tune into one of Hugo's speeches =:-) One of the few world leaders willing to call the United States for what it is.
